General remarks for diving in Croatia

Diving in Croatia

We would like to draw your attention to the following: Diving is allowed in Croatia provided that the person possesses a valid Diving card issued by the Croatian Diving Union. Card validity is one year from the date of issue and is granted to divers possessing a valid Certificate issued by International Diving Union.

The following documents should be attached to the application form for gaining a diving card:

  • evidence of diving qualification and
  • passport or any other identification document

Areas where diving is forbidden

  1. In internal sea waters comprising ports, access to ports, port anchorages and in areas of heavy traffic.
  2. In strict and special sea nature reserves, national parks and other protested sea and undersea areas (Maloston Bay, the bay of Lim, Nature Park Telašćica).
  3. Close to anchored war ships and guarded military objects at the coast line less than 100 meters away.
  4. In National Parks Brijuni and Krka.
